One enterprising news source – the Jersey Vindicator – followed the money and found out that it is unclear what the funding was for….or if it was connected to generous political donations to Democrat politicians. Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident in New Jersey… and America Rising will be exposing more questionable state spending in coming weeks and months… We applaud the Jersey Vindicator for doing the kind of investigation that most journalists today fail to do.
From the Jersey Vindicator: On April 17, Stein contributed $10,000 to the Union County Democratic Committee. State Sen. Nicholas Scutari, one of the lawmakers who requested the $1 million appropriation, is chairman of the county Democratic organization. Stein also contributed $2,600 directly to Scutari’s campaign in March 2022…. On June 30, 2026, Stein contributed $2,500 to Assemblyman Avi Schnall’s campaign…
What public purpose the Shorrock Gardens appropriation is intended to serve is unclear …The lawmakers’ request does not explain the project, identify its intended public benefit, or specify conditions governing how the money would be used.
