Gottheimer And Mainstream Dems Desperately Looking To Distance Themselves From The Radicals They Helped Create - DSA Continues Vote Laundering Scams
Democrat officeholders such as Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ) are desperately trying to separate themselves from the radical leftists they helped create — but now fear will harm them in the November 2026 elections and the 2028 presidential election, says Joseph Caruso, chairman of the recently launched America Rising political action committee based in North Jersey.
“Since President Trump’s first term, the so-called moderate and progressive Democrats gave oxygen and support to the radical, antisemitic, pro-Hamas, pro-illegal-alien, pro-violence Democrats, and now — like Dr. Frankenstein — they fear what they created in the form of the DSA and their supporters,” says Caruso, a business executive.
Caruso says mainstream Democrats like Rep. Gottheimer, and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, should be afraid that the far-left candidates winning Democratic primaries will harm their chances to win majorities in the U.S. Senate and the House of Representatives in this year’s midterm elections. Gottheimer is up for reelection against Sean Kirrane, a Bergen County businessman.
“For years, the mainstream Democrats, who often identify as ‘progressives,’ have championed irresponsible financial and security policies that emboldened the DSA,” says Caruso.
NOT REALLY DEMOCRATS?
In a recent article in the New York Post, Gottheimer told a reporter that the Democratic Socialists of America are not really Democrats. (New York Post, Aug. 3, 2026)
Caruso says otherwise. “I don’t know how Rep. Gottheimer can say with any credibility that he and other Democrats are not responsible for the radicalization of their party. The socialist Democrats are doing nothing more than giving voice and energy to the ideas that the Democratic Party mainstream has been spewing for years, such as: tax the rich, put criminals on the street instead of in prison, free Palestine, allow non-citizens to vote in American elections, and destroy national borders.”
Caruso pointed to the DSA’s own platform — published on the organization’s website — as proof of how far the party has drifted, and a direct challenge to Gottheimer to explain his silence.
“The DSA platform, wants the United States to be more like Iran and Cuba, promises to abolish ICE and ‘grant amnesty for all immigrants regardless of status,’ and ‘end visa caps and quotas.’ That’s not border security — that’s no border at all,” said Caruso. The DSA goes on to say it wants ‘full voting rights criminal convicts and non-citizens.”
Caruso said mainstream Democrats in some U.S. Cities are already working to give the precious right to vote to non-citizens in local elections while Democrat officials in New Jersey admitted they allowed 6,600 illegal aliens to be added to voter rolls. “If the Democrats gain control of House and the U.S. Senate in November, non-citizens will be voting in American elections and shaping policy and canceling out the vote of every American citizen who pays taxes and plays by the rules,” Caruso continued.
Caruso noted that the DSA says it is for working families, but their platform, which mirrors former President Joseph Biden’s plan for college tuition debt forgiveness — calls for ‘free, quality public education from pre-K to college’ and to ‘cancel all student debt’ — while also in the same document they call to legalize everyone here illegally, ‘regardless of status.”
“If you put these two parts of DSA manifesto together the hard-working American taxpayers will foot the tuition bill for countless foreign nationals who broke our laws to get here and for the sons and daughters of millionaires. Why should a plumber in Bergen County, already crushed by property taxes, be on the hook for citizens of another country to attend college in America for free? The radical progressive’s plan is an insult to every family that saved and sacrificed to pay their own way, yet I do not hear Rep. Gottheimer or Sen. Schumer or Rep. Hakeem Jeffries denouncing the DSA tuition plan.”
Caruso argues that the DSA manifesto a continuation of the liberal Democrats’0 long term policy of raising taxes and using taxpayer money to buy votes of those who want “free stuff” from the government.
The DSA progressive plan is vote laundering in its purest form,” Caruso said. “They take money from hardworking American citizens and hand it out in the form of entitlements to people who are not citizens and can’t legally vote – while promising them that they will put them on the voter rolls so the socialists can continue to pay for their entitlements. With this scam, the progressive Democrats can buy a whole new class of government-dependent voters, thus ensuring their election and re-election. That’s the game.”
Sadly, says Caruso: the vote buying scam has been supported by the Democratic mainstream for years. “The Democratic Party leadership has encouraged radicalism because it will say anything and support extremism in any form to get votes and money for their candidates.”
“For decades the Democratic Party has been using American taxpayer money to buy support and buy votes. They took money from hardworking people and wasted it on programs that did nothing but enrich people who found creative ways to scam the government. That’s what I call vote laundering,” said Caruso — “and it’s time to put an end to it.”
